Who We Are

Shelters Unlimited is owned and operated by Wayne Barker.  Wayne acquired the business in March of 2010.  Wayne is a native of Ashe County, North Carolina, and has owned his own businesses for many years including Barker Decorating Center and Carmon's.

Wayne lives in Jefferson, North Carolina with his wife, Linda.  They have three children- Patti, Vicki, and Chris.  They have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Wayne is an active missionary and has made many trips to different parts of the world.  Together, he and Linda founded Lifting Jesus Higher Ministries in 1998.  Since then, they have taken many teams of missionaries to the remote villages of Nicaragua where they gave out food, water, clothing, medical supplies, and the Word of God.
